The Ocean Innovation Conference, hosted by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (UNCW CIE), will take place on September 29, 2026, 8:00am-4:30pm at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in Wilmington, NC.
The conference highlights trends in blue economy innovation, shares updates on marine and coastal research, and showcases opportunities for investment, collaboration, and action. Throughout the day, sessions will focus on the regional blue ecosystem, cutting-edge ocean technologies, and efforts to preserve and restore the precious resources of our seas. This year's keynote speaker is Hanli Prinsloo, a South African freediving champion, ocean conservationist and founder of I AM WATER Ocean Conservation. This year's panels include "From Pilot to Scale: Commercializing the Blue Economy," "The Digital Ocean: AI, Data, Cybersecurity & Maritime Security," and "From Sea to Table: Feeding the Future."
