“From There to Here” Exhibit: Featuring Bruce Bowman & Sally Sutton
Art in Bloom Gallery
This September we will be joined by painters, Bruce Bowman and Sally Sutton, previously represented by New Elements Gallery. “From There to Here” will feature the vivid and colorful paintings of two artists.
Bruce’s painting style uses broad palette knives which allow his work to be quick and expressive and allows for the ability to create sharp edges and tight lines. His wet-on-wet application of paint creates an impasto technique providing dimension and texture. Bruce’s approach to painting is refreshingly opposite of his work as an architect, which requires accuracy and realism.
Sally enjoys the challenge of capturing light while experimenting with rich color combinations while contrasting them with deep shadows using brushstrokes that create movement and energy. Combining her love of nature with en plein aire painting, she strives to share her personal reflections of the locations with her viewers.
Join us in the gallery on Sunday, September 20th, 2-5pm for our Artist Reception. Enjoy special refreshments, meet our artists, and enjoy live music by violinist Shirley Lebo! This exhibit will run through November 1st, alongside a new selection of featured works by our 30+ Gallery Artists.

Tai Chi Tuesdays with Will at Station No. 2
Station No. 2
Each class follows a foundational flow that builds awareness, balance, and natural movement through Heaven → Earth → Wu Ji (stillness). We open with a warm-up sequence: - Heaven (upper awareness): light posture, spinal alignment, crown openness, and relaxed breath - Earth (grounding): rooting through the feet, weight shifting, stability, and connection to the ground - Wu Ji (stillness): deep relaxation, internal quiet, and deep "ocean" breathing to center the system From there, we build the practice: - Simple foundational Tai Chi movements introduced slowly and clearly — soft stepping, relaxed coordination, natural flow - Emphasis on Wu Wei (effortless action) — movement without force or tension - Gradual linking of movements into smooth, continuous flow - Ongoing focus on balance, grounding, and whole-body awareness - Breathwork maintained throughout as a steady internal rhythm As the series progresses, we expand into deeper layers: - Energy and internal awareness development - Healing sound practices - Broader education on life force (Qi) and its relationship to the body and human experience - Deeper integration of mindfulness, breath, and movement as one unified system We close each class by returning to Wu Ji stillness — integrating the practice into everyday life: walking, standing, and daily awareness.
The goal is to build not just movement skill, but a deeper understanding of balance, internal calm, and the living energy that animates the body and human experience. ✦ Stay on for more: Pat Ulacco's Tranquil Tuesdays guided meditation begins right after at 6:00 PM in the same space — making Tuesday evenings at Station No. 2 a beautiful full practice from movement to stillness.

Trampled By Turtles Live
Greenfield Lake Amphitheater
Trampled By Turtles
Thu • Oct 08, 2026 • 6:00 PMGreenfield Lake Amphitheater, Wilmington, NC
Trampled by Turtles are from Duluth, Minnesota, where frontman Dave Simonett initially formed the group as a side project in 2003. At the time, Simonett had lost most of his music gear, thanks to a group of enterprising car thieves who'd ransacked his vehicle while he played a show with his previous band. Left with nothing more than an acoustic guitar, he began piecing together a new band, this time taking inspiration from bluegrass, folk, and other genres that didn't rely on amplification. Simonett hadn't played any bluegrass music before, and he filled his lineup with other newcomers to the genre, including fiddler Ryan Young (who'd previously played drums in a speed metal act) and bassist Tim Saxhaug. Along with mandolinist Erik Berry and banjo player Dave Carroll, the group began carving out a fast, frenetic sound that owed as much to rock & roll as bluegrass.
Trampled by Turtles released their first record, Songs from a Ghost Town, in 2004. In a genre steeped in tradition, the album stood out for its contemporary sound, essentially bridging the gap between the bandmates' background in rock music and their new acoustic leanings. Blue Sky and the Devil (2005) and Trouble (2007) explored a similar sound, but it wasn't until 2008 and the band's fourth release, Duluth, that Trampled by Turtles received recognition by the bluegrass community. Duluth peaked at number eight on the Billboard bluegrass chart and paved the way for a number of festival appearances. When Palomino arrived in 2010, it was met with an even greater response, debuting at the top of the bluegrass chart and remaining in the Top Ten for more than a year. Two years later, their crossover appeal landed them at number 32 on the Billboard 200 pop charts upon the release of their sixth album, Stars and Satellites. In addition to major bluegrass and folk festivals, they began showing up at Coachella, ACL Fest, and Lollapalooza. The official concert album, Live at First Avenue, followed in 2013, recorded at Minnesota's most famous venue. A year later, the band returned with the darker-toned Wild Animals, which bettered its studio predecessor on the album charts, reaching number 29 on Billboard. Countless tours, playing venues like the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, with bands like Lord Huron, Wilco, Caamp, Mt Joy and Deer Tick to name a few have followed. 2022 will see the release of the band's latest body of work called Alpenglow which was produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.

Halloween Nirvana Tribute
Flytrap Brewing
🎃🍻🎶We had SO much fun at last year’s Halloween Party! We kicked things off with a rockin’ CCR set in the Pumpkin Patch before Zach & This Petty Luxury took it to the Flytrap rooftop for an epic recreation of The Beatles’ iconic final 1969 performance.
✨This year, they’re trading in the mop tops for some serious 90’s grunge vibes. 🤘This Petty Luxury will be paying tribute to Nirvana’s legendary MTV Unplugged set, performed in New York in 1993. But the vibes won’t stop there…
🎸🦽🥁After the Unplugged set, the band will be plugging in and turning up the volume for another unforgettable Nirvana performance—their headlining set at the 1992 Reading Festival in England.
Two iconic Nirvana performances. One Halloween night.

Sacred Blue Lotus Sound Journey
Downtown
This Sacred Blue Lotus Sound Journey is a deeply relaxing and transformative experience designed to balance the mind, body, energy centers, and spirit. This unique journey will blend the soothing effects of blue lotus tea with the therapeutic power of sound healing, for a serene environment fostering deep meditation and alignment. Throughout the session, the gentle effects of the blue lotus tea, combined with the sound bath's healing vibrations, work synergistically to open the mind, enhance focus, and invite a sense of profound relaxation and rejuvenation. The combination of sensory experiences helps quiet mental chatter, releasing stress and fostering a deep sense of well-being, emotional clarity, and spiritual alignment. The world is changing & encouraging us to move with it. New opportunities are inspiration to boost our confidence & creativity. May we stop letting fear minimize our efforts & potential. May this be the time to take action & focus on what we want, choosing creative outlets, commitments, & relationships that truly inspire us. May we pursue them without fear or self-judgement. Namaste.
**Blue Lotus Tea**: Known for its calming and mildly euphoric effects, blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea) has been revered for centuries as a sacred flower in ancient rituals. When brewed into a tea, it has a gentle sedative quality promoting relaxation and mental clarity. This tea will help open your heart and mind, facilitating a deeper connection to intuition and emotional well-being. It is often associated with the third eye chakra (Ajna) and the crown chakra (Sahasrara), however, it is capable of removing blockages throughout the chakra system.
**Meditation**: Following the tea consumption, our session leads into a guided meditation, designed to center your thoughts. The meditation involves techniques aimed at quieting the mind and facilitating a deeper connection to the present moment, inviting clarity and insight into our space.
**Sound Bath**: This sound bath uses a variety of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and drums to foster harmonic vibrations. These vibrations stimulate the body’s energy centers, clearing blockages and promoting energetic balance. This resonance will help induce a deep meditative state, encouraging emotional release and healing. The gentle sounds allow for a more profound experience of peace and inner stillness.

"Always Looking: Titus Brooks Heagins"- screening at Jengo's Playhouse
Jengo's Playhouse
Always Looking explores the work of photographer Titus Brooks Heagins and the challenging questions his photos pose about the systemic neglect of society’s most vulnerable communities of color. Humanizing yet confrontational, Titus’ photographs document the overlooked: people who, through some intersection of poverty, race or gender/sexual identity, exist as outsiders.
Grab a drink at the Jengo's bar at 6:30 PM before the film starts. This is a co-partnership screening with the Cameron Art Museum.
