Overview
SparkNC is a non-profit organization in North Carolina focused on connecting students with real-world, work-based learning experiences. They provide opportunities for students to explore career paths, develop essential skills, and gain valuable experience through internships, apprenticeships, and other work-based learning programs. Their goal is to bridge the gap between education and employment, preparing students for success in the 21st-century workforce. They work closely with businesses, schools, and community partners to create meaningful learning experiences. They focus on providing these opportunities to students that may not normally have access to them.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
Mentorship:
Volunteers can serve as mentors to students, providing guidance, support, and
career advice.
Workplace Hosts: Businesses and professionals can volunteer to host students for
internships, job shadowing, or other work-based learning experiences.
Career Speakers: Volunteers can share their career experiences and insights with
students through presentations and workshops.
Skill-Based Volunteering: Professionals with specific skills (e.g., resume writing,
interview preparation) can volunteer to lead workshops and training sessions.
Program Support: Volunteers can assist with program coordination, event
planning, and administrative tasks.
Advisory Roles: Professionals can serve on advisory boards or committees to
help shape SparkNC's programs and initiatives.
Because SparkNC works closely with business partners, there is a large need for those partners to volunteer their time, and locations.
