Overview

An afternoon spent in deep exploration of traditional yoga practice and philosophy.

Join Taylor for a 4-hour embodied experience, diving deep into various aspects of traditional Tantra yoga. These teachings come from her teacher Bhagavan Shri Shanmukha of Tantra Mela (previously named Shri Kali Ashram) and interpreted directly from the Trika (Kashmiri Shaivism) tradition, called Kaula Tantra.

The Tantras are ancient texts, the underlying principles of the Vedas and the Indian life science of Ayurveda. The aim of the practice is to balance our internal system (hormones/prana/vital life energy) through a methodical combination of āsanas (postures), prāṇāyāma (breath work) and Vedic philosophy - leading to achieved relaxation on and off your mat, setting the foundation for a wholesome life culture.

The Flow:

Welcome & Settle: gather, tea offering

Intention: introduction and intention circle

Preparation: pranayama and philosophy discussion

Action/Follow Through: Seated Series and Tri Dosha asana practice

Integration: final shavasana, contemplation and deep meditation

Return & Closing: reconnection, optional sharing

The Yoga Sequences:

The Seated Series works to open our diaphragms, strengthen the lower back, align the spine and stimulate the sciatic nerves. All asanas are done seated, with a focus on posture and release of tension. We breathe into and out of harmony with each transition encouraging deep meditation in the stillness.

The Tri Dosha Series, the core asanas of Tantra yoga. This series takes place entirely laying on the ground at a slow pace, encouraging deep meditation and relaxation. Each asana builds upon the last, stimulating prana/chi/vital life energy for overall euphoric and relaxing body sensation. Physically and mentally challenging yet gentle and suitable for all levels. Final shavasana concludes each practice, offering stillness to reset and honor ourselves.

Immerse yourself in the liberating philosophy and practice of Traditional Tantra Yoga.

About Taylor:

“I was fortunate enough to be introduced to yoga in my adolescence. Over the last 15 years, I have always returned to the traditional practice as a spiritual life science, to help find my true purpose, reduce pain/stress, and to restore self-love and centeredness regardless of external circumstances.

Along my journey, I stayed at Shri Kali Ashram in Thailand for three-months, immersing myself in the complete traditional Tantra yoga lifestyle. Since finishing the 500hr Traditional Tantra Yoga teacher training, I continue to return to my Dharma, which in Sanskrit refers to the real self. As a yogi, doula, therapeutic bodyworker, and educator, I seek to provide space in which people of all walks of life feel honored, supported and loved. I look forward to diving deep into this practice and esoteric knowledge with you.“ - Taylor
