Overview
Join us for this relaxing DONATION based Warm restorative practice. Restorative Yoga is a series of poses in which practitioners are effortlessly and completely supported with blocks, blankets, and other props. This yoga class is designed to promote deep relaxation and provide a healing and meditative experience. Hands-on assists will be provided, students are empowered to decline this option if they do not wish to receive assists. All levels of practice are welcome. No experience necessary. All donations go directly to New Hanover County Special Olympics. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics aims to combine high quality sports with a wide audience, and be a driving force for social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. Donations will help fund athletic uniforms, awards, sports training and competition facilities, coaches’ education, transportation and much more. No athlete or family is ever asked to pay a fee of any kind to participate in Special Olympics.
