Farewell Summer Summer Jazz Funeral

In October of each year, the Town hosts a jazz funeral to mourn the end of summer. A jazz band leads a procession of mourners and the casket of summer to the pavilion. The band then performs to celebrate summer. All are invited to participate in the procession. Don't forget your funeral finery, masks and beads. Even if you do, don't fret, the Town has some available.

This year's event is scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025 from 7-9 PM. Port City Players will be providing the music and leading the procession promptly at 7 PM. T'Geaux Boys food truck will be serving up some authentic New Orleans cuisine. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
