Overview
The Island Men host the 12th annual Carolina Beach Dragon Boat Regatta.
Come join in on the fun, excitement, teamwork, costumes, colors and music at the Carolina Beach waterfront and Marina.
Our two-day event starts on Friday, September 12th with a Kickoff Party inside the Seawitch Cafe & Tiki Bar @ 6PM where we will announce the teams competing on in the race and enjoy some great music. The race begins at 8:00AM on Saturday, September 13th with winners announced ~4PM.
Teams will be competing for a variety of awards with trophies for the winners of each category:
- 1st overall
- 1st place in each division
- Most spirited
- Best costumes
- Best all female team
Gather your friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers or customers and enter your team by submitting an application and providing an $800 donation. Each team requires 11 members in the boat with up to 4 alternates – 10 paddlers and one drummer to keep the pace. Can’t find 10 friends to sign up but still interested? Individuals can also enter and will be placed on a team ad hoc.
