Transcend Dance with Anna Maria

Somatic dance experience that awakens the chakras, connects with and honors the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sound, and Light and celebrates self and the Divine Feminine through freeform movement. This session is pure embodied flowing movement and guided moving meditation that concludes with seated guided meditation and brief sound bath. Veils will be provided for use when we dance to honor the element of air. Bring a mat and an optional pillow or blanket. Bring a journal if you would like to record reflections at end of session. ----------- ABOUT ANNA MARIA, DANCE JOURNEY GUIDE: Anna Maria is a certified somatic movement and ecstatic dance facilitator who underwent Somatic Movement and Ecstatic Dance Facilitator Training with Heal Through Dance©. She brings a lifetime of dance training and over two decades of experience as a dance instructor to her sessions. Her dance training is rooted in ballet and traditional cultural dance forms such as Oriental Dance, American Cabaret Belly Dance, and Tribal Fusion Belly Dance. She credits Dr. Andrea Deagon, her college classical studies, women's studies, and mythology professor, as mentor who inspired her to follow the path of the Goddess. She has studied under dance professionals such as Andrea Deagon, Carolena Nericcio, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Moria Chappell, Jill Parker, and Ava Flemming. Star Triana, founder of Heal Through Dance and co-founder of JaiStar Studios, was her somatic and ecstatic dance facilitator instructor. Anna Maria holds a BA degree in Theatre that includes movement training. Her Undergraduate Degree includes a minor in Classical Studies with an emphasis on Mythology and Feminine Studies, and she also holds a Master's Degree in English Literature. Anna Maria believes that through movement and dance, it is possible to transcend ordinary circumstances to become the best versions of ourselves.
