Second Saturday Cleanup

Cape Fear River Watch is excited to partner with Keep New Hanover Beautiful for our Second Saturday Cleanup on August 10th! The cleanup will take place in the Burnt Mill Creek Watershed. This cleanup will be a kayak cleanup! So if you have access to a kayak please bring it. CFRW will bring 8-10 of our own kayaks but we will need more! The cleanup will take place from 9 am -11 am. Parking can be found in the field adjacent to the creek at the end of Shirley Rd and an adress that will get you close is 2001 Klein Rd, Wilmington, NC 28405. Just look for the “Cleanup In Progress” signs! Most of the litter in this location will only be accessible via kayak so there will not be a lot of litter to access by foot. There will be a couple of spots where waterproof boots or waders are needed. If you have some please bring them with you. We will provide pickers, bags, gloves, and safety vests. As always remember to dress appropriately and bring water. We hope to see you out there!
