Overview
Create frame-worthy collage art from a highly curated selection of vintage magazines. No experience is required, come relax after work!
Do you ever feel like you are constantly scrolling on social media after work to decompress? (okay, that's me too)...Our evening collage workshop allows for a relaxing environment where you can truly be in the present, taking a break from your digital lives.
Join us for an evening of mindful making and check out the Cargo District's newest opening Craft Cabana (located in the DesignWorx building up the stairs). Bring a friend, make a friend. You can create unique collages based on your preferences or a specific theme. We will share collage design tricks and tips that will make your collage art look frame-worthy!
Materials and supplies included:
- Endless vintage magazines to source from (1960s-early 2000s) such as LIFE, Architectural Digest, Thrasher, Ideals, Photo, and other gems.
- 8.5"x11" heavy-duty card stock paper
- Mystery prompts as a source of inspiration
- Scissors, X-Acto knives, cutting boards, glue sticks, paint brushes, Mod Podge, gem stickers, POSCA paint pens, colored craft paper, and washi tape
What you will learn:
- How and what media to source from each type of magazine
- How to use collage tools such as an X-Acto knife and Mod Podge
- How to create a cohesive and aesthetic design
- Collage tricks and techniques to make yours unique
- The ticket price includes all materials and instructions. No experience is required.
This workshop takes place at the Craft Cabana inside the DesignWorx Building.
