Overview
Tommy James and the Shondells are among the most air-played and artist-covered musicians alive. They are well known for many Top 40 Hits, including “Crimson and Clover,” “Mony Mony,” “Hanky Panky,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” and “Draggin’ the Line.” In the 1980s, hits from James’ songbook became chart topping covers for Tiffany (“I Think We’re Alone Now”), and Billy Idol (“Mony Mony”). An eclectic array of musicians has covered, and continues to cover, James’ songs, including Prince, Bruce Springsteen, REM, Dolly Parton, and even the Boston Pops.
In addition to touring and releasing new music, James can be heard on Sunday evenings hosting his popular SiriusXM Radio Gettin’ Together with Tommy James show. James’ bestselling autobiography, Me, The Mob and the Music is on Rolling Stone’s “Top 25 Best Music Memoirs List,” and is being turned into both a feature film and a Broadway play.
