Overview
Ready to roll up your sleeves and make a real difference for our planet? Join Plastic Ocean Project for an exciting roadside cleanup along Highway 421, a litter hotspot on the way to the New Hanover County Landfill. Every bit of trash we pick up here helps keep harmful debris out of our waterways—and out of the ocean. Not only will you be helping the environment, but you’ll also be making this busy roadway safer for everyone! 🌊 Why it matters: When trash isn’t secured properly on its way to the landfill, it ends up along the roadside... and eventually in our waterways. Help us stop the pollution before it reaches the sea! 📍 Where: Cape Fear Catamarans (2102 US-421, Wilmington, NC 28401) 🕐 When: Sunday, April 27 | 1 PM – 3 PM What’s Provided: 🧤 Gloves 🦺 Safety vests 🗑️ Bags (courtesy of NCDOT) 🤖 Trash grabbers (thanks to POP!) What to Bring: 👟 Closed-toe shoes 👖 Long pants 💧 Water bottle Ages 12–17? Bring a signed NCDOT form from a parent or guardian on the day of the event. Let’s clean up, have fun, and keep our ocean trash-free—together!
